Dennis Avilucea, Jr.

Dennis Avilucea, Jr. was born and raised in San Jose, California, and is a graduate of Valley Christian High School and San Jose State University. He received his Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts in 2015. Much of his experience since graduating from law school has been in personal injury and insurance defense (automobile and trucking accidents, premises liability, product defect, property damage, construction defect, etc.). Dennis has also spent time in family law, immigration law, trade secrets, and property rights. Dennis’ civil law experience includes matters at the trial level and appellate work.

Apart from his multiple years as a civil defense attorney, Dennis’ legal experience includes numerous other practice areas of the law. During law school, Dennis interned with the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe, where he learned about Tribal Law and dealt directly with Tribal leaders.

Dennis has also defended misdemeanor and felony criminal cases in counties all around the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition to appearing in court, Dennis has drafted criminal appeals and has argued multiple cases in front of the Appellate Panels in the Northern District.

Dennis is admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. He was named as a 2021 Rising Star in the Super Lawyers publication.

Dennis is a proud husband and father of two boys. When not working, he is an avid sports fan, concertgoer, and active in his community. He is also a founding board member of the Spartan Rugby Alumni Association, having played rugby at San Jose State University during his time there.
